Global e-commerce giant Zalando has teamed up with Swedish brand Dr. Denim to launch the world's first jeans commercially designed for a seated position.

The seated jeans, which have been specifically designed to take into account the needs of wheelchair users, are the result of a collaboration between Dr. Denim and designer Louise Linderoth and will be available from Zalando early this month.

Daniel Kvist, brand experience director at Dr. Denim and one of the brains behind the concept, said launching through an etailer of Zalando's reach offered the maximum possible impact for the limited edition product.

“Zalando is one of the few players that can really have an impact so to launch the world first denims designed for a seated body position together with them is the best scenario possible. We want to create a more inclusive society and Zalando's participation in the project cleary shows there are more than us striving for this," he said.

The Loui jeans are based on Dr. Denim's best selling Lexy style and feature significant stretch in a slightly worn black finish. The will be priced at €70.
