Yours Clothing reveals record Christmas sales
Fast-growing omnichannel plus-size retailer Yours Clothing has revealed record trading over Christmas with sales up 24% on the prior year.
In the seven weeks to 7 January the business recorded a 42% increase in online sales while UK store sales were up 16%. Yours also said its gross margin had increased by 3.4ppts due to a lower level of discounting over the period.
“We’re delighted to celebrate a record trading period over the festive period. We continue to see increased customer demand, as our proposition of great fitting, excellent value, fashionable plus size clothing continues to resonate with both women and men around the world," said chief operating officer Resh Dorka.
International sales were also strong, up 100% year-on-year, following the launch of additional country specific websites, including Germany and France, along with further digital marketing investment in 2017. The number of new e-commerce customers was up 22% during the period against the prior year.
“We are excited about the year ahead as we look to deliver on our strategy to expand our physical and digital footprint in the UK and internationally, as well as broaden our product range,” Dorka added.
Peterborough-based Yours Clothing operates 130 stand-alone stores in the UK and Ireland, international country-specific websites, 12 franchise stores in the Middle East, as well as wholesale.
