Elizabeth von der Goltz, the former global buying director of YOOX NET-A-PORTER Group (YNAP), has joined MATCHESFASHION as chief commercial officer.

Von der Goltz is the third c-suite appointment at the London-based global luxury retailer in three months and she brings with her 20 years’ experience in buying and merchandising roles in the UK and US.

Prior to her role at YNAP, von der Goltz held several positions at upscale New York department store Bergdorf Goodman.

She said of her appointment: “I have always admired how MATCHESFASHION inspires its global customers through a true fashion lens and its ability to showcase so many emerging designers whilst also championing the most important brands today. I look forward to immersing myself in the business, continuing to strengthen our brand partnerships and helping to take the business to the next level."

MATCHESFASHION CEO Ajay Kavan, who joined the business from Amazon in February, said: “Elizabeth has a breadth of experience and commercial acumen that will help us continue to drive growth by inspiring our customers.

“Our aim is to be the best global partner for luxury brands and to continue to forge deep relationships with the world’s most discerning luxury customers. Elizabeth will augment our exceptional leadership team and help get the business ready to scale.”

Her appointment follows the arrival of Sean Glithero as Chief Financial Officer in September and Jason Weston as Chief Operating Officer in October. Weston joined MATCHESFASHION from Amazon, where he spent 15 years in leadership roles leading businesses in Europe and the UK. Glitheroe has over 20 years’ experience in senior finance roles, including at Auto Trader Group plc, the UK’s largest digital automotive marketplace, and at Funding Circle, where he served as CFO.

“I’m looking forward to working with Elizabeth, Sean, Jason and the rest of the MATCHESFASHION leadership team,” said Kavan. “Next year will be focused on bolstering the foundations of our business and strengthening our brand partnerships so we are ready to scale as the world emerges from the pandemic.”

Lea Cranfield, who has been MATCHESFASHION commercial director since May 2018, has left the business and will re-join YNAP in the new year as chief buying and merchandising officer. Prior to joining MATCHESFASHION, she had been with YNAP for four years in various buying and merchandising roles.
