YOOX NET-A-PORTER Group (YNAP says online orders peaked at one every 0.7 seconds over Cyber Weekend and it broke its own record the most expensive item ever sold during the period with a £54,000 diamond necklace.

As the online luxury group predicted last week it saw an increase in self-gifting of hard luxury items such as fine jewellery, watches and party wear.

The big-ticket items also sold on its off-price sites with YOOX selling a £9000 evening gown on Cyber Monday while THE OUTNET selling two gowns price at over £3,000. YOOX's newly launched AI-powered own brand 8 by YOOX sold 3,500 pieces over the period.

On NET-A-PORTER crystal embellished dresses proved popular while coats and jackets proved popular on MR PORTER with notable sales including a peacoat for £6,500 and a bomber jacket for £5,900.

The group said its apps performed especially well. Downloads of the MR PORTER app were up over 40% during Cyber Weekend and the app ranked in the Top 100 shopping category across 14 countries in the app store. YOOX registered almost 100 000 new downloads of its app. Engagement over Instagram was also high with Stories generating strong sales.
