YOOX Net-A-Porter Group (YNAP) has appointed Olivier Schaeffer as global chief operating officer; he joins the online luxury group from global beauty and fragrance retailer Sephora where he held the same position.

In his new role Schaeffer will lead all operations and technological activities on a global scale and will report into YNAP CEO Federico Marchetti.

“I am very happy to welcome Olivier to our team. We want to accelerate YNAP’s ambitious plans to grow globally. That’s why we asked Olivier to join us as Global COO. His decades of relevant experience are a perfect fit with our needs. Olivier will be a key asset to take us through this next phase of our growth," Marchetti said.

The announcement of Schaeffer's appointment comes a day after it was confirmed that luxury conglomerate Richemont had successfully finalised its take-over of YNAP, having secured control of almost 95% of its share capital. Richemont had formerly been the largest single shareholder with a stake of 49% and announced its desire to take full control of the business in January.
