Fashion consultant Yasmin Sewell has been appointed as fashion director of publisher Condé Nast's forthcoming e-commerce platform Style.com.

Sewell, is a leading fashion consultant. She has previously held senior positions at Browns and Liberty and has her own fashion line Etre Cécile. She will head up the platform's fashion team.

"Yasmin's unique vision for products, trends and talents will be pivotal in Style.com's growth," said president of Style.com Franck Zayan in statement published on Vogue.com. "She is one of the most sought-after consultants in the industry, so having her as a full-time member of our team is a great accomplishment."

Zayan himself was hired by Condé Nast from French retailer Galeries Lafayette in 2013 to focus on moving the brand into the e-commerce sphere. Style.com was previously an industry news site published by the Vogue owner from New York. The publisher announced earlier this year that the site would be shuttered in its existing form and reborn as a shopping site in early 2016.

Other key appointments include former Asos.com editorial director Melissa Dick who joined venture in April.
