WRAP appoints Catherine David as CEO to lead push for circular living
Non-governmental organisation WRAP has appointed Catherine David as CEO to lead the organisation in its circular living work around the world.
David is currently Director for Behaviour Change & Business Programmes at WRAP. She will start in her new role on 1 June 2025, taking over from current CEO Harriet Lamb.
David said: "I am absolutely delighted to be taking on the role of CEO of WRAP. At WRAP, we are on a mission to embed circular living in every board room and every home, and it is a huge privilege to take on the job of leading the wonderful team as CEO.
"I look forward to working with WRAP’s partners and stakeholders across the world to take action at a crucial time for our planet and for all of us who call it home."
David joined WRAP in October 2021 following senior roles at The Fairtrade Foundation and Co-op. A senior leader in the sustainability sector, she is an expert in ethical trade - particularly developing sustainable value chains and improving food and materials systems.
She currently directs WRAP’s business collaboration work across multiple voluntary agreements including The UK Plastics Pact, The Food and Drink Pact and The Textiles Pact as well as the organisation’s citizen behaviour change programmes, Recycle Now and Love Food Hate Waste.
Sebastian Munden, Chair of Trustees at WRAP, said: "Catherine has the skills, determination, and expertise to lead WRAP at this important time, boosted by her experience of the last three and a half years of change.
"She will continue to drive our mission, which she helped co-create, and she has demonstrated her commitment to delivering against an ambitious strategy focused on system change in food and drink, materials like textiles and packaging, and the circular economy, while expanding our global reach and impact."
David’s aim is to deliver WRAP’s ambitious 2030 strategy across its four key programmes: Future Proof Food, Prevent Problem Plastics, Transform Textiles, and Accelerate the Circular Economy.
She will expand the organisation’s global reach further following the recent opening of WRAP’s first office in the European Union, and offices in the USA and Australia - servicing work across the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
