It was first listed on the London stock exchange in 1929, by which time it had 400 stores, factories and mills.<\/p>\n<p>Sir Phillip Green acquired Burton in 2002, joining the Arcadia Group. In July 2020, Arcadia Group planned to cut jobs at Burton to minimise costs.
