Fashion giant Zara<\/a><\/span> is to expand its presence at Westfield Stratford<\/a><\/span> and open another unit at the shopping destination, TheIndustry.fashion can reveal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Work on the new store has already commenced, with work underway internally and new signage installed outside the retail unit. The new store will be located on the first floor, next door to Primark and the upcoming Giulio store.<\/p>\n

The new store will be located directly below the current Zara store. It is not yet known if the stores will connect or operate independently, such as the JD Sports in Westfield Stratford.<\/p>\n

The upgraded space is expected to feature an expanded product offering across womenswear, menswear and kidswear.<\/p>\n

The news follows the upsizing of Zara at Metrocentre in Gateshead, where the brand has agreed to a 42,000 sq ft store, set to open in late 2023<\/a><\/span>. In December 2022, Zara opened an upsized store at the Blanchardstown Centre in Dublin, going from a 14,000 sq ft unit to a 52,000 sq ft space \u2013 its largest in Ireland to date.<\/p>\n

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield<\/a>, owners of Westfield Shopping Centres, saw 2022 tenant sales reach 103% compared in pre-pandemic 2019 levels<\/a><\/span>, citing the \"end of any COVID effect\" on its business.<\/p>\n

Speaking last year about brands increasing their footprint at Westfield locations, Kate Orwin, Leasing Director at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield<\/a> UK, said: \u201cBrands are choosing to upsize in the best locations, as we have seen with the Nike Rise store and the expansion of Gucci at The Village Westfield London, representing a broader trend among retailers.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs these retailers invest in integrated digital and physical experiences, their focus has shifted from pure sales generation to creating a sense of community and connection for consumers which ultimately drives brand loyalty.\u201d<\/p>\n
