Luxury French house Chlo\u00e9<\/span><\/a> is launching Chlo\u00e9 Vertical, a circular fashion project, forming part of its Spring\/Summer 2023 collection.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new Chlo\u00e9 Vertical collection of bags, shoes and ready-to-wear uses 100% traceable materials and are equipped with scannable digital IDs for \u2018Instant Resale\u2019 \u2013 an industry first.<\/p>\n

Resale through Chlo\u00e9 Vertical will be hosted by Vestiaire Collective<\/a><\/span>, which will offer a price to sellers once they\u2019ve uploaded product imagery and details. Sellers will then be delivered payment immediately before the product has sold.<\/p>\n

Riccardo Bellini, President and CEO of Chlo\u00e9, commented: \"I\u2019m delighted to be enabling Chlo\u00e9 customers around the world the opportunity to make informed decisions about the transparency, traceability and circularity of our products.\"<\/p>\n

\"The way I see it, once you buy a product, you know everything about that product. Then you want to resell it, you just click on your digital ID and instantly resell it.\"<\/p>\n

Chlo\u00e9 Vertical\u2019s goal is to increase circularity by making it easier for customers to participate in reselling pre-loved pieces. Digital identification is becoming a got-to tool for brands to promote sustainability in fashion, with Levi\u2019s<\/a><\/span>, Mulberry,<\/span> <\/a>and Ralph Lauren<\/span><\/a>\u00a0taking part to ensure supply chain traceability.<\/p>\n

\"Chloe\"<\/p>\n

By scanning the unique digital ID embedded into each product, via NFC tag or QR code, customers are directed to a site that details the manufacturing process, instructions for product care, and a certificate of authenticity. The \u00a0certificate comes\u00a0with a unique ownership number and a link to resale platform Vestiaire Collective.<\/p>\n

Chlo\u00e9 claims to be the first brand to launch a resale system in conjunction with a digital ID technology. Customers will also be able to return and sell pre-owned Chlo\u00e9 items through the platform.<\/p>\n

The brand has committed to rolling out a digital ID on all products by 2025. Chlo\u00e9 and EON,\u00a0which powers the digital ID technology, are both participants of the Sustainable Markets Initiative\u2019s fashion taskforce (founded King Charles III), which is where they first connected.<\/p>\n

Federico Marchetti, Chairman of The Sustainable Markets Initiative\u2019s Fashion Task Force, commented: \"The Digital Passport\u2019s ultimate objective is to empower customers to make informed sustainable purchase choices as they increasingly demand disclosure, transparency and traceability.<\/p>\n
