Italy has long been home to some of fashion's most prominent houses, and more emerging labels have been benefiting from design competitions and incubator projects launched by top labels.<\/strong><\/p>\n After supporting Korean designer Miss Sohee, Italian luxury label Dolce & Gabbana<\/a><\/span> is now holding the torch for emerging British fashion designer Matty Bovan ahead of his catwalk debut at Milan Fashion Week in September 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The York-born London-based designer<\/a> and Leeds Beckett University professor will be supplied with fabrics and materials from the the Italian house to develop his Spring\/Summer 2023 collection.<\/p>\n Bovan said in an official press release: \"Craft and handiwork are at the heart of my work, something that myself and this iconic maison have great affinity with.<\/p>\n \"The synergy upon meeting Domenico and Stefano recently was palpable. I\u2019m still processing the idea that I am going to be exploring their archives and mixing their historic work with my new output for next spring. I\u2019m already feeling the turbo charge of this alliance.\"<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the designer is a natural fit. \"The colours, proportions and energy of Matty Bovan's work reveal the tremendous research and creative process behind each piece,\" says the duo. \"We immediately had a special understanding with him.\"<\/p>\n In partnership with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI), Valentino<\/a><\/span> selected Act N.1 as the second emerging brand it will support virtually during Milan Fashion Week.<\/p>\n
