{"id":206675,"date":"2022-05-10T09:38:35","date_gmt":"2022-05-10T08:38:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/?p=206675"},"modified":"2022-05-10T19:28:57","modified_gmt":"2022-05-10T18:28:57","slug":"guess-champions-sustainability-in-new-e250m-credit-facility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/guess-champions-sustainability-in-new-e250m-credit-facility\/","title":{"rendered":"Guess champions sustainability in new \u20ac250m credit facility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/the_directory\/guess\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guess<\/a><\/span> has entered into a \u00a3214 million (\u20ac250 million) revolving credit facility through its Swiss subsidiary, Guess Europe Sagl, linking with its sustainability targets.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>The facility has an initial term of five years<\/strong>, with an option to extend the maturity date by up to two years and expand the facility by up to \u00a385.7 million (\u20ac100 million), subject to certain conditions. It also<strong> replaces short-term borrowing arrangements<\/strong> with various banks totalling \u00a3102 million (\u20ac120 million).<\/p>\n<p>Linking with the new facility, <strong>the Guess Sustainability Plan focuses on three key pillars<\/strong> of 'Operating with Integrity', 'Empowering our People' and 'Protecting the Environment'.<\/p>\n<p>Under the third pillar, the interest rate for the new facility will be subject to an annual adjustment based on the achievement of specific sustainability goals including reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing the use of sustainably sourced materials and increasing the penetration of the company\u2019s Guess ECO products.<\/p>\n<p>Carlos Alberini, CEO of Guess, Inc., said: \u201cOur new \u20ac250 million European credit facility reflects the importance of the European region to our overall company as our largest segment, as well as our lenders\u2019 confidence in our strategy.<\/p>\n<p>\"We remain highly committed to our goal of protecting the environment and see sustainability as fully integrated into our operations. This new credit facility will not only provide incremental access to longer term capital but will also align financial incentives with our sustainability goals.
