The acquisition will <strong>provide Poundland with the infrastructure to power a national roll-out of its own pilot ecommerce operation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Poundland plans to build on the experience of Poundshop.com to develop its online operation, which <span style=\"font-size: 1.8rem;\">started as a pilot in selected postcodes in Birmingham and <\/span>Walsall and has now been extended across the Midlands and South Yorkshire.<\/p>\n<p>Following the acquisition,<strong> Poundland plans to widen its online offering, adding <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/the_directory\/pepco\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PEP&amp;CO<\/a><\/span> clothing and homeware ranges<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Poundshop.com Chairman Steve Smith and CEO Chris Maddox will act in an advisory capacity to help smooth the integration. <strong>The integration will be led by Poundland's Retail &amp; Transformation Director Austin Cooke<\/strong>, who will lead the day-to-day operation of Poundland\u2019s online business.<\/p>\n<p>Poundland plans to<strong> retain all of the current Poundshop.com colleagues<\/strong> and will <strong>continue fulfilling customers\u2019 orders as normal<\/strong> during the integration.<\/p>\n<p>Barry Williams, Managing Director at Poundland, said: \u201cIt\u2019s great to warmly welcome the Poundshop.com team to Poundland.
