{"id":198370,"date":"2022-02-28T13:18:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-28T13:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/?p=198370"},"modified":"2022-02-28T19:40:47","modified_gmt":"2022-02-28T19:40:47","slug":"kurt-geiger-donates-50000-to-the-british-red-cross-ukraine-crisis-appeal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/kurt-geiger-donates-50000-to-the-british-red-cross-ukraine-crisis-appeal\/","title":{"rendered":"Kurt Geiger donates \u00a350,000 to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/the_directory\/kurt-geiger\/\">Kurt Geiger<\/a> <\/span>has donated its store profits from the last week, which amount to \u00a350,000, to support the British Red Cross's Ukrainian Crisis Appeal to help provides food, water, first aid, medicine, warm clothes and shelter to those affected by the crisis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The donation is part of the brand's global kindness mission, which has seen the brand <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/kurt-geiger-to-donate-first-month-of-store-profits-to-nhs\/\">donate the first month of store profits to the NHS in June 2020.<\/a> <\/span>Kurt Geiger CEO Neil Clifford commented last month that <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/kurt-geiger-aiming-to-open-more-stores-than-ever-before-in-2022\/\">\"kindness works\" for the business and that the shoe brand would continue to offer 5% of profits to charity,<\/a><\/span> despite profits falling by 50% to \u00a320 million.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian Red Cross Society, to which the donations will be referred, has been working to repair vital infrastructure such as water stations as well as homes,\u00a0 healthcare centres, schools and community centres that have been damaged during the fighting. It is also helping hospitals and primary health care facilities with medicines and medical equipment, while it is supporting families and households with regular supplies of food and hygiene items.<\/p>\n<p>Kurt Geiger CEO, Neil Clifford, said: \u201cWe have always been ardent advocates of empathy, compassion and spreading kindness to those who need it most. Currently, there are hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians in need of financial, practical and emotional support.
