{"id":194501,"date":"2022-01-27T09:00:05","date_gmt":"2022-01-27T09:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/?p=194501"},"modified":"2022-01-27T20:37:19","modified_gmt":"2022-01-27T20:37:19","slug":"nike-appoints-new-executive-vice-president-and-general-counsel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/nike-appoints-new-executive-vice-president-and-general-counsel\/","title":{"rendered":"Nike appoints new Executive Vice President and General Counsel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/the_directory\/nike\/\">Nike<\/a><\/span> has announced the promotion of Ann Miller to Executive Vice President and General Counsel, effective 17 February.<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Miller, a 14-year veteran of the company, will succeed Hilary Krane, who has decided to retire after 12 years with the company.<\/p>\n<p>With more than two decades of legal experience, Miller will <strong>oversee all corporate governance and external reporting matters for Nike and its subsidiaries<\/strong>. She will also lead the sportswear giant's global ethics and compliance programme, as well as <strong>legal support for its supply chain, privacy, digital product and technology matters.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Miller previously held several senior roles at the company, including serving as its Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Ethics and Compliance officer for six years. She oversaw all legal work for Nike\u2019s North America geography as well as serving as Vice President &amp; General Counsel for Converse.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on Miller's appointment, Nike\u2019s president and CEO, John Donahoe, said in a statement: \"For more than 14 years, Ann has been a proven Nike leader who has made significant contributions to the company that helped extend our position as the world\u2019s leading sports brand.<\/p>\n<p>\"Ann\u2019s combination of executive leadership, passion and legal and business expertise makes her an ideal leader for such a critical role in the company.\"<\/p>\n<p>The appointment comes at a crucial period amid the <strong>company's lawsuit against Lululemon Athletica concerning the infringement of six Nike patents<\/strong> by Lululemon\u2019s manufacturer for the sale of the Mirror Home Gym and related apps.
