{"id":188957,"date":"2021-12-02T12:00:52","date_gmt":"2021-12-02T12:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/?p=188957"},"modified":"2021-12-02T19:50:22","modified_gmt":"2021-12-02T19:50:22","slug":"giorgio-armani-bans-use-of-angora-wool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/giorgio-armani-bans-use-of-angora-wool\/","title":{"rendered":"Giorgio Armani bans use of angora wool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Armani Group, which owns <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/the_directory\/giorgio-armani\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Giorgio Armani<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/the_directory\/emporio-armani\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Emporio Armani<\/span><\/a> and Armani Jeans, has announced that it will no longer use angora wool across its collections from AW22 and onwards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The news follows Armani Group's agreement with the Fur Free alliance in 2016, which saw the group ban the use of animal fur from all its products.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emphasised by the group, this latest commitment marks another step towards sustainability across its supply chain with regards to the environment and animals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Giorgio Armani, CEO at Giorgio Armani, said: \"We are pleased to announce that Angora wool has been discontinued from all Armani Group collections, demonstrating our specific commitment to monitoring production for the protection of nature.<\/p>\n<p>\"We have always believed in the innovation and research of new materials and the innovative ways to process traditional raw materials.\"<\/p>\n<p>The Armani Group is also involved with international working groups to address the use of chemicals considered to be potentially hazardous.
