{"id":187320,"date":"2021-11-19T11:20:59","date_gmt":"2021-11-19T11:20:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/?p=187320"},"modified":"2021-11-19T16:57:17","modified_gmt":"2021-11-19T16:57:17","slug":"kipling-launches-sustainable-collection-made-from-vf-corporation-deadstock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/kipling-launches-sustainable-collection-made-from-vf-corporation-deadstock\/","title":{"rendered":"Kipling launches sustainable collection made from VF Corporation deadstock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Kipling has announced the launch of its new sustainable collection, which saw the brand collaborating with Redress to select a designer from the previous Redress Design Award finalists and semi-finalists<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>The brand's launched a competition to find the designer of this sustainable capsule collection.<\/strong> Kipling wanted the designer to utilise <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/the_directory\/vf-corporation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>VF Corporation<\/strong><\/span><\/a> deadstock, end-of-roll fabrics or innovative recycled fabrics, along with having a circular design principle at their core.<\/p>\n<p>The virtual competition was held in November 2020, with VF Corporation and Kipling\u2019s leadership team selecting a winner from seven shortlisted designers. The selection process was based on uniqueness, creativity in storytelling, functionality, bag silhouette and usage of deadstock.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Redress Design Award 2020 finalist, Beatrice Bocconi, won the competition with her use of deadstock fabrics to create designs inspired by punk culture and Vivienne Westwood<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Beatrice Bocconi, the 23-year-old designer from Italy, said: \u201cI believe in the importance of textile design and manipulations to re-use forgotten fabrics and small pieces of fabric, that\u2019s why each bag I designed and produced is unique.<\/p>\n<p>\"The Redress x Kipling collection is a small step towards a better and more conscious fashion industry.
