{"id":180293,"date":"2021-09-24T13:29:19","date_gmt":"2021-09-24T12:29:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/?p=180293"},"modified":"2021-09-24T18:46:53","modified_gmt":"2021-09-24T17:46:53","slug":"the-very-group-appoints-robbie-feather-as-retail-managing-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/the-very-group-appoints-robbie-feather-as-retail-managing-director\/","title":{"rendered":"The Very Group appoints Robbie Feather as retail managing director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Very Group has appointed former Fenwick CEO Robbie Feather as retail managing director and a member of the executive board.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Feather succeeds\u00a0Sam Perkins, who will step down at the end of the year after seven years with the operator of Very.co.uk.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>former commercial director of Sainsbury\u2019s Argos, Feather was recruited by Fenwick in 2018<\/strong> to turnaround and modernise the business and customer proposition. He left the department store group in April of last year and was replaced by John Edgar.\u00a0Prior to joining Fenwick, Fenwick held a number of roles at Sainsbury\u2019s Argos, including digital director and general merchandise director.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Perkins has been with The Very Group for seven years<\/strong> during which time he is credited with transforming\u00a0the group\u2019s approach to the end-to-end customer experience and supply chain through the introduction of a category management model and integrated customer communications.<\/p>\n<p>The Very Group CEO Henry Birch commented on the appointment of Feather:\u00a0\u201cWe are <strong>delighted to have attracted someone of Robbie\u2019s calibre<\/strong> to join our executive board. An experienced business leader, Robbie brings substantial expertise in retail and a strong digital and commercial track record. He is the perfect person to lead our retail team into the post-pandemic era and we look forward to him joining us in November.\"<\/p>\n<p>Birch said The Very Group was \"almost unrecognisable\" from the business Perkins joined seven years ago. \"We will be sad to see him go, but he will leave us in great shape, with a <strong>brilliant retail team in place and a strong, clear plan<\/strong> to continue to delight our customers and grow the business over the years ahead.
