{"id":178617,"date":"2021-09-01T10:34:07","date_gmt":"2021-09-01T10:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/superdry-partners-with-oxfam-for-in-store-give-back-scheme\/"},"modified":"2021-09-13T20:23:38","modified_gmt":"2021-09-13T20:23:38","slug":"superdry-partners-with-oxfam-for-in-store-give-back-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/superdry-partners-with-oxfam-for-in-store-give-back-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Superdry partners with Oxfam for in-store \"Give Back\" scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Superdry is partnering with Oxfam to <strong>offer \"Give Back\" boxes in 22 of its UK stores,<\/strong> where customers can donate pre-loved clothes from 15 September 2021.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The sustainability scheme is set to coincide with the <strong>official launch of Oxfam\u2019s \"SecondHand September\" campaign,<\/strong> which aims to raise awareness about the harmful effects that the over consumption of fashion has on the planet.<\/p>\n<p>Oxfam is asking consumers for support by<strong> donating their pre-loved items and buying second-hand clothes.<\/strong> Shoppers can raise awareness by sharing their one-of-a-kind finds using #SecondHandSeptember and tagging @OxfamGB.<\/p>\n<p>Once the clothes have been donated, the customer can scan the QR code available on the box, where they will be <strong>given the chance to enter a prize draw to win a \u00a3100 Superdry voucher.<\/strong> In addition, for every donation received, Superdry will top up by giving \u00a31 to Oxfam.<\/p>\n<p>Superdry CEO, Julian Dunkerton, said: \u201cThe urgency of the <strong>climate crisis has broadened how we think about ourselves and the way we approach business.<\/strong> As a business we want to effect positive change for present and future generations and build a positive environmental legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oxfam GB CEO Danny Sriskandarajah, added: \u201cWe\u2019re excited to be partnering with Superdry to help people donate clothes to Oxfam, which will raise vital funds to fight poverty around the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDonating to Oxfam also <strong>helps to reduce the impact of clothing on the environment by giving garments a new lease of life.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Superdry stores will be twinned with their local Oxfam shop,<\/strong> which will collect all clothes donated to be resold, reused or recycled, in order to support the complete lifecycle of the item and its revival for resale.<\/p>\n<p>By twinning with local Oxfam shops, Superdry will<strong> minimise the distance the clothes travel to reach their new home,<\/strong> as well as support the communities they operate in.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme is part of Superdry\u2019s mission to help protect the planet and beat poverty, as well as its<strong> commitment to become \u201cthe most sustainably listed fashion brand on the planet by 2030\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Superdry is partnering with Oxfam to offer \"Give Back\" boxes in 22 of its UK stores, where customers can donate pre-loved clothes from 15 September 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":178618,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_exactmetrics_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[9763,10494,12969],"tags":[12268,11189,10812,4039],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.7 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Superdry partners with Oxfam for in-store &quot;Give Back&quot;
