{"id":167516,"date":"2020-10-01T10:49:00","date_gmt":"2020-10-01T10:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/baird-group-begins-suit-direct-expansion\/"},"modified":"2021-08-06T12:07:26","modified_gmt":"2021-08-06T12:07:26","slug":"baird-group-begins-suit-direct-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/baird-group-begins-suit-direct-expansion\/","title":{"rendered":"Baird Group begins Suit Direct retail expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Baird Group-owned brand, Suit Direct has agreed terms for three new stores in major UK cities<\/strong> - Leicester, Newcastle and Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>The news follows the brand's recent announcement it will be<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/suits-direct-to-open-a-series-of-standalone-stores-across-the-uk\/\"><strong>\u00a0opening of a series of standalone stores across the UK throughout the next year <\/strong><\/a>as part of its growth strategy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The move will expand Suit Direct\u2019s store portfolio to 27 stores across the UK<\/strong>, and the retailer has added that there are \u201cfurther stores in the pipeline\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In Birmingham, the brand owned by Baird Group has taken a new lease at Unit 1, The Burlington, New Street. The 3,968 square foot space sits within what the brand calls the \u201c<strong>100 percent prime pitch<\/strong>\u201d as the unit sits across to Apple and Watches of Switzerland, and is also just outside Grand Central.<\/p>\n<p>While in <strong>Newcastle, Suit Direct is to open a 2,909 square foot unit on the upper Platinum Mall at the MetroCentre and in Leicester, Suit Direct will open a new shop at the Highcross shopping centre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Associate director in the retail team at Savills Leeds, Josh Howe said in a statement: \u201cWell located retail units with high footfall continue to be in demand and the market is presenting good opportunities for good quality retailers.\"<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuit Direct is a fantastic example of a resilient business that has adapted its offer to include more casualwear attracting a wider customer base.
