Burberry<\/a> has launched a new scholarship scheme to support students from underrepresented communities<\/strong>.<\/p>\nThe new scholarship is aimed at providing more equal access at some of the world\u2019s leading creative institutions<\/strong>, the scheme includes partnerships with London\u2019s Central Saint Martins, the Parsons School of Design in New York City and Paris\u2019 Institut Franc\u0327ais de la Mode<\/strong>.<\/p>\nBurberry said the new scheme, along with with its existing scholarship programme at the Royal College of Art in London, will allow over 50 students to benefit from education programmes in the arts over the next five years<\/strong>.<\/p>\nChief people officer at Burberry, Erica Bourne said: \u201cIn order to<\/strong> truly diversify the talent we bring into this industry, we have to meaningfully commit to diversifying our talent pipeline<\/strong>. This starts before the workplace, in education. We are delighted to be working with such an impressive array of creative institutions, all of which are equally dedicated to ensuring better representation within their programmes.\u201d<\/p>\nThe scholarships at Parsons, will support graduate students studying Architectural Design, Interior Design, Fashion Marketing and Communication, and Strategic Design and Management <\/strong>programmes.<\/p>\nAt Central Saint Martins, undergraduates enrolled in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Jewellery Design, Fashion Communication and Graphic Communication can apply for funding<\/strong>.<\/p>\nThe scholarships at Institut Franc\u0327ais de la Mode, will provide opportunities for undergraduates to pursue degrees in Fashion Design<\/strong>.<\/p>\nHead of Central Saint Martins, Jeremy Till commented: \u201cThis is an important and generous initiative from Burberry, in that it will support students who might otherwise not flourish because of financial hardship<\/strong>. The scholarships are part of Burberry and Central Saint Martins\u2019 shared commitment to keeping London as a hub of creativity.\u201d<\/p>\nAll three institutions are among the world\u2019s leading and top creative institutions. Central Saint Martins alumni includes iconic luxury designers such as Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen\u00a0and\u00a0Riccardo Tisci<\/strong>.<\/p>\nParsons School of Design alumni includes high-end designers Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan and Anna Sui<\/strong>.
