{"id":167341,"date":"2020-09-11T12:29:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-11T12:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/matalan-ceo-jason-hargreaves-steps-down\/"},"modified":"2021-08-06T12:07:09","modified_gmt":"2021-08-06T12:07:09","slug":"matalan-ceo-jason-hargreaves-steps-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/matalan-ceo-jason-hargreaves-steps-down\/","title":{"rendered":"Matalan CEO Jason Hargreaves steps down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/intelligence\/matalan\">Matalan<\/a>'s Chief Executive Jason Hargreaves is set to step down from the helm after seven years leading his family\u2019s retail business.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Hargreaves will remain with the fashion and homeware retailer but in a different capacity, as a strategic adviser for the board.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Johnson,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/matalan-announces-new-chairperson-and-chief-commercial-officer\/\">who recently replaced John Mills as chairman<\/a>, will now lead the board as executive chair from next week.<\/p>\n<p>He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Matalan alongside chief commercial officer James Brown.<\/p>\n<p>Jason Hargreaves said: \u201cAfter seven years at the helm now is the right time for me to step down as the CEO into my new role.
