{"id":167336,"date":"2020-09-11T09:01:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-11T09:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/intu-sells-derby-shopping-centre\/"},"modified":"2021-08-06T12:07:09","modified_gmt":"2021-08-06T12:07:09","slug":"intu-sells-derby-shopping-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/intu-sells-derby-shopping-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Intu sells remaining stake of Derby shopping centre"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Intu has sold its remaining stake in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/intelligence\/intu-derby\">Derby shopping centre<\/a> to real estate investment firm Cale Street Partners.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cale Street now has full control of the shopping destination after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/intu-confirms-appointment-of-administrators\/\">intu fell into administration in June.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The management and operation of the shopping centre will be the responsibility of international property firm Savills<\/strong> and its former executive director of Capital &amp; Regional, Ken Ford.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In 2019, Cale Street Partners paid \u00a3186.3m for 50% of the centre<\/strong> in a deal funded by the London-based Kuwaiti Investment Office.<\/p>\n<p>It will be known as the Derby Centre for the time being, with the building being\u00a0rebranded within the next few months.<\/p>\n<p>Jim Tucker, joint administrator of Intu Properties PLC, said: \u201cThis is the first Intu centre to migrate to new management and ownership following the administration of the Group\u2019s Topcos back in June, and as such marks a key milestone in the administration process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cTo have achieved such a smooth and orderly handover in such a short timescale is a testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved, not least the Intu Derby employees who have continued to work with enthusiasm and professionalism throughout the administration.<\/strong> We wish the team in Derby all the very best.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ken Ford added: \u201cThe fundamentals of Derby remain strong and I am looking forward to working with the team to develop a repositioning strategy that will ensure the centre can continue its positive trajectory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe centre enjoys high levels of interest from national brands, thanks to its strong catchment and footfall, and our plans will only help further this potential.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/subscribe-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-144088 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/wp-content\/uploads\/Daily-Newsletter-Banner.png\" alt=\"Newsletter banner\" width=\"1680\" height=\"268\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":49,"featured_media":154275,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_exactmetrics_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[6,10494],"tags":[18901,10,14995,14419,10417],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.7 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Intu sells remaining stake of Derby shopping centre - TheIndustry.fashion<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Intu has sold its remaining stake in its Derby shopping centre to real estate investment firm Cale Street Partners.
