Mango says it is on course to exceed 2019's sales levels thanks to stellar digital sales growth<\/strong> and strong recoveries in some of its key markets.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Spanish-based global fashion brand says it achieved a 50% growth in digital sales between March and June<\/strong> and\u00a0some of its main European markets are recovering quickly\u00a0and are very close to the sales levels achieved in the first quarter of last year.<\/p>\n Sales in Belgium fell by just 4%<\/strong> while in Germany, Mango\u2019s third biggest\u00a0market worldwide, sales have barely fallen by 10% compared to the same period in 2019.\u00a0In Russia, the Netherlands and Switzerland, all within the top 10 for turnover, the reduction is\u00a0between 10% and 14%.<\/p>\n As a result of these performances the company says it now expects to achieve overall sales growth in 2020 despite the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n \u201cThese markets have performed better than expected since the start of the COVID-19 crisis<\/strong> and\u00a0this demonstrates the wisdom of our commitment in recent years to accelerate e-commerce and\u00a0omnichannel initiatives. We are continuing to reap the rewards of so many years of effort and\u00a0investment in the digital transformation of the company\u201d, Mango CEO Toni Ruiz said.<\/p>\n Sales via the Mango e-commerce platform, launched in 2000, account for almost 24% of total\u00a0group turnover, totalling \u20ac564 million in 2019. This figure represents a growth of 26.7%\u00a0compared to the previous year. At the start of this year the company set itself the target of achieving 30% of its sales via e-commerce<\/strong> but is expected now to exceed that target.<\/p>\n
