The completion of the Speedo North America acquisition and the appointment of Jim, during these uncertain times,<strong> demonstrates our long-term commitment to the business and our passion for building a truly global brand<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_142179\" style=\"width: 641px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-142179\" class=\" wp-image-142179\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jim-Gerson-president-Speedo-North-America-300x288.jpg\" alt=\"Speedo\" width=\"631\" height=\"606\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-142179\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jim Gerson<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Gerson adds: \u201cIt\u2019s a really exciting time to be re-joining team Speedo. <strong>Pentland has an outstanding track-record in brand building<\/strong> and growing global sports brands, and that will be instrumental in helping us to grow the Speedo business in North America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gerson, who starts on 1\u00a0June and will report to Andy Long, will be tasked with leading the Speedo North America team as they<strong> prepare for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics in 2021<\/strong> and growing the brand across the region, within the swim category.<\/p>\n<p>Pentland first acquired the Speedo brand in 1991 when it acquired the Speedo International business, which then<strong> licensed the Speedo trademark to PVH\u2019s predecessor for use in North America and the Caribbean<\/strong>.
