Givenchy has announced the departure of its British artistic director Clare Waight Keller.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Waight Keller joined the LVMH-owned house three years ago, from Chlo\u00e9,\u00a0<\/strong>and made her mark instantly after she was chosen to design the wedding dress of Meghan Markle for her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It has been revealed that she is leaving after her initial contract had expired and her last collection for the house was AW20,<\/strong> shown at Paris Fashion Week in early March.<\/p>\n In an Instagram approach entitled \"From the Heart\", Waight Keller said: After three truly wonderful years, the time has come to close my chapter at Givenchy. \u00a0As the first woman to be the Artistic Director of this legendary Maison,<\/strong> I feel honoured to have been given the opportunity to cherish its legacy and bring it new life.<\/p>\n \"Focusing on a world based on Haute Couture has been one of the highlights of my professional journey. I have shared so many incredible moments with the brilliant Givenchy ateliers<\/strong> and design teams: your exceptional talent and dedication will forever remain in my memories.\"<\/p>\n Givenchy responded saying: \"Givenchy wants to warmly thank Clare Waight Keller for her creative leadership<\/strong>, in contribution to our latest chapter.\"<\/p>\n Waight Keller replaced Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy,<\/strong> who subsequently became the chief creative officer at British house Burberry. She was replaced at Richemont-owned Chlo\u00e9 by Natacha Ramsay-Levy.<\/p>\n Her departure opens up another plum job in fashion and Givenchy has said that it will announce its new creative organisation at a later date.<\/strong><\/p>\n In light of Waight Keller's departure and COVID-19 related shutdowns, Givenchy has said it would cancel its Couture AW20 collection<\/strong> and its women's pre-Spring collection.
