{"id":165907,"date":"2020-03-23T15:06:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-23T15:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/hm-opens-up-global-supply-chain-to-produce-ppe-for-hospitals-worldwide\/"},"modified":"2021-08-06T12:05:07","modified_gmt":"2021-08-06T12:05:07","slug":"hm-opens-up-global-supply-chain-to-produce-ppe-for-hospitals-worldwide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/hm-opens-up-global-supply-chain-to-produce-ppe-for-hospitals-worldwide\/","title":{"rendered":"H&#038;M opens up global supply chain to produce PPE for hospitals worldwide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>H&amp;M has opened up its global supply chain, including\u00a0its widespread purchasing operations and logistics capabilities, to <strong>produce and deliver personal protective equipment (PPE) to hospitals worldwide<\/strong>\u00a0during the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Swedish-based global fashion giant said its\u00a0supply chain teams around the world were now collectively supporting in these initial efforts to <strong>support countries and communities worldwide. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>H&amp;M said it had reached out to the EU to understand the needs and to offer the company\u2019s help. It is understood the <strong>most urgent shortage was for protective masks, but that surgical gowns and gloves were also needed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\"The Coronavirus is dramatically affecting each and every one of us, and H&amp;M Group is, like many other organisations,<strong> trying our best to help in this extraordinary situation.<\/strong> We see this is as a first step in our efforts to support in any way we can. We are all in this together, and have to approach this as collectively as possible,\u201d said H&amp;M CEO head of\u00a0sustainability Anna Gedda.<\/p>\n<p>Many of H&amp;M's global stores, including all of those in the UK, are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/hm-closes-all-of-its-uk-stores-for-at-least-two-weeks\/\">on temporary shut-down<\/a> during the pandemic, though it has started re-opening stores in China as that country begins to get back on its feet.<\/p>\n<p>Last week Spanish giant Inditex, parent of Zara and Massimo Dutti among others, offered\u00a0to make hospital garments for hospitals in its home country, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/mango-donates-two-million-masks-to-spanish-hospitals-in-covid-19-fight\/\">Mango also donated two million masks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In France, global luxury giants <strong>LVMH and Kering have donated masks to French healthcare providers,<\/strong> while LVMH has also turned over some its if perfume-making facilities to the production of hand sanitiser which is it supplying to French hospitals for free.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":152673,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_exactmetrics_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[16042,6,10494],"tags":[5202,5707,3956],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.7 -
