Most pubs and restaurants would have been unable to claim on their insurance even\u00a0if ministers had demanded a total shutdown<\/strong> to combat the coronavirus outbreak, industry experts have said.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When the Government refused to order mass closures\u00a0and simply encouraged\u00a0customers to stay away instead, furious bosses said the decision would make it impossible for them to seek a pay-out under\u00a0business interruption cover.<\/p>\n But insurance insiders said that most of these companies would have been denied cash anyway because interventions by the state are not included.<\/strong><\/p>\n
