The pact aims to reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry.<\/p>\n<p>A great number of fashion retailers and textile businesses including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/chanel-will-remain-independent-as-sales-leap-to-almost-9bn\/\"><strong>Chanel<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/burberry-opens-immersive-polar-expedition-themed-experience-at-selfridges\/\"><strong>Burberry<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/nike-shuts-down-london-hq-over-coronavirus-concerns\/\"><strong>Nike<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/alexander-mcqueen-donates-fabric-to-central-saint-martins-and-university-of-westminster-london-fashion-week-graduate-shows\/\"><strong>Alexander McQueen<\/strong><\/a> have joined the coalition since launch at the eve of the <strong>G7 summit<\/strong> in August 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Members who sign the pact are expected to work towards shared goals in three areas: <strong>stopping global warming, restoring biodiversity and protecting the oceans<\/strong>. The commitments are intended to be adopted by every company involved, including retailers, suppliers and distributors.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B9UbImplCGQ\/<\/p>\n<p><strong>Geoff van Sonsbeeck, co-founder and CEO of Baukjen and Isabella Oliver said:<\/strong> \u201cit\u2019s time for significant change in our industry. We have the power to do better and as a united front we can make that change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cat Baukjen and Isabella Oliver the objectives of the Fashion Pact complement our own. <strong>We will continue support and work on these important initiatives to drive positive change, doing our best to vastly minimise our industry\u2019s impact to the environment<\/strong>.
