A judge has ruled that Victoria's Secret's former UK operations can move from administration to liquidation<\/strong> enabling dividends to be paid to creditors.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The US lingerie group's UK arm was placed into administration last year<\/strong> and a joint venture deal was subsequently struck with high street chain Next to run its UK & Ireland stores and its UK e-commerce business (the online retail business had not been part of the administration).<\/p>\n Parent L Brands' deal with Next secured 500 jobs and the future of its retail stores.<\/strong> Next owns 51% of the joint venture.<\/p>\n A spokesman for administrators Teneo said a judge had approved a move into liquidation last week enabling creditors to be paid.<\/strong>\u00a0Judge Sally Barber considered the case at a hearing in the Insolvency and Companies Court.<\/p>\n The Victoria\u2019s Secret brand has faced problems over the past couple of years as its over-sexualised imagery and its high-octane catwalks shows<\/strong> in which supermodels were presented as \u201cAngels\u201d felt out of step in the post-#MeToo era.<\/p>\n It has since sought to present a more inclusive brand image introducing trans and plus-size models to its campaigns.<\/strong><\/p>\n L Brands spun the Victoria's Secret brand off into its own entity in May of this year and it is now run as a separate company.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A judge has ruled that Victoria's Secret's former UK operations can move from administration to liquidation enabling dividends to be paid to creditors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":139404,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_exactmetrics_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[10585,6,10494],"tags":[16645,10769,3683,15182],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
