{"id":165317,"date":"2021-07-07T12:13:34","date_gmt":"2021-07-07T12:13:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/cow-vintage-opens-in-londons-seven-dials\/"},"modified":"2021-08-12T11:42:42","modified_gmt":"2021-08-12T11:42:42","slug":"cow-vintage-opens-in-londons-seven-dials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/cow-vintage-opens-in-londons-seven-dials\/","title":{"rendered":"COW Vintage opens in London\u2019s Seven Dials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>COW Vintage has opened a new<strong> 1,847 sq ft flagship store at 13 Shorts Gardens<\/strong> in London\u2019s Seven Dials.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As well as<strong> one-of-a-kind vintage clothing, footwear and accessories<\/strong> sourced from around the world, the store has recycled designer pieces and handcrafted reworked garments.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 2008 by Nigel Coughlan and Steve Adamson, COW describes itself as an <strong>\"innovative hub of artists, musicians, and designers\",<\/strong> pushing boundaries and driving trends through sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The independent British retailer has established a <strong>cult following among vintage enthusiasts across the UK<\/strong> via its online boutique, as well as its store locations in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Nottingham. But this is the first time it has had a physical space in London.<\/p>\n<p>COW Vintage\u2019s commitment to repurposing and sustainability extends to the fit-out of its new flagship Seven Dials store, with an <strong>eclectic interior fit-out custom created using a variety of recycled materials,<\/strong> right down to the fixtures and fittings.<\/p>\n\n<p>Co-founder Coughlan said: \u201c<strong>Opening in London has been a long-awaited step for COW Vintage,<\/strong> and Seven Dials\u2019 unique atmosphere and sense of community provides the perfect environment for our first presence in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreat effort has gone into the design and sustainable fit-out of this flagship to ensure it is a <strong>fun and experiential space to showcase our amazing one-off designs,<\/strong> retro finds, and repurposed fabrics and prints.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new store joins landlord Shaftesbury\u2019s<strong> fast-growing community of sustainable retailers,<\/strong> including L\u2019Estrange, which recently opened at 19 Earlham Street offering \"intelligent wardrobe pieces\" made from renewable, organic and recycled fabrics, and Goldsmith Vintage at 57-59 Neal Street.<\/p>\n<p>Samantha Bain-Mollison, Retail Director\u00a0at Shaftesbury, commented:\u00a0\u201c<strong>Sustainable values are becoming an increasingly significant part of consumers\u2019 criteria<\/strong> and our own, therefore it has become a fundamental part of Seven Dials\u2019 leasing strategy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile sustainability is becoming a saturated concept across the industry, <strong>we ensure we are seeking out brands and retailers like COW Vintage,<\/strong> whose ethics are authentic and substantiated.
