{"id":163945,"date":"2021-01-20T10:52:38","date_gmt":"2021-01-20T10:52:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/pentland-brands-appoints-first-ever-positive-business-director\/"},"modified":"2021-08-06T12:09:57","modified_gmt":"2021-08-06T12:09:57","slug":"pentland-brands-appoints-first-ever-positive-business-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/pentland-brands-appoints-first-ever-positive-business-director\/","title":{"rendered":"Pentland Brands appoints first ever Positive Business Director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pentland Brands has announced the <strong>appointment of Sara Brennan as its first ever Positive Business Director.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In the newly created leadership role, Brennan will be tasked with looking at how Pentland, and its full portfolio of sports, outdoor and lifestyle brands, including Berghaus, Speedo, Canterbury of New Zealand, Ellesse, Mitre and Kickers, can <strong>\u201caccelerate its positive business strategy\u201d to deliver on its commitment to take-action for people and our planet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chief Executive Officer of Pentland Brands, Chirag Patel, said:\u00a0\u201cAs a business, we constantly factor in the social and environmental impact of what we do.\u00a0Today, more than ever, it\u2019s <strong>essential that we remain focused on our goal of being a positive business<\/strong> as it relates to people and our planet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSara has a wealth of experience and I\u2019m really looking forward to seeing her bring our positive business ambitions to life across our business and portfolio of brands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brennan actually joined Pentland as Head of Corporate Responsibility in January, 2019, and has <strong>played a key role in further embedding sustainability across the organisation.<\/strong> She has been instrumental in ensuring high standards of responsibility, accountability and transparency with suppliers and partners during the pandemic, for which Pentland was recognised in a special\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/baptistworldaid.org.au\/resources\/ethical-fashion-guide\/\">Ethical Fashion Guide: COVID-Edition<\/a>\u00a0published in October, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>On her appointment, Brennan commented:\u00a0\u201cPentland has a long track record of being a responsible business and I\u2019m looking forward to working with everyone in the Pentland family -
