A number of beauty and personal care industry stalwarts have been granted the highest ranking of A status<\/strong> for their sustainability efforts in the past year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Companies including L\u2019Or\u00e9al and Colgate Palmolive joined the top 5% of high-performing companies on CDP\u2019s Climate A List<\/strong>, with L\u2019Or\u00e9al having achieved the top accolade of triple-A status for its work on climate change, forests and water security.<\/p>\n Colgate Palmolive Company also achieved double A status for its efforts on climate change and water security, as did Johnson and Johnson, while Est\u00e9e Lauder Companies (ELC) moved up the rankings to achieve an A score for its climate change disclosure, up from A- in 2019.<\/p>\n CDP chief executive officer Paul Simpson said: \u201cWe extend our congratulations to all the companies on this year\u2019s A List.<\/p>\n \u201cTaking the lead on environmental transparency and action is one of the most important steps businesses can make<\/strong> and is even more impressive in this challenging year marked by COVID-19.<\/p>\n \u201cThe scale of the risk to businesses from climate change, deforestation and water insecurity is enormous, and we know the opportunities of action far outweigh the risks of inaction. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cLeadership from the private sector will create an \u2018ambition loop\u2019 for greater government action<\/strong> and ensure that global ambitions for a net zero sustainable economy become a reality.<\/p>\n \u201cOur A List celebrates those companies who are preparing themselves to excel in the economy of the future by taking action today.\u201d<\/p>\n The annual global ranking by environmental disclosure charity CDP<\/strong> is designed to drive corporate transparency and incentivise environmental action.<\/p>\n In 2020, a record-breaking 9,600 companies disclosed through CDP<\/strong> \u2013 14% more than last year, and 70% more than when the Paris Agreement was signed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":82,"featured_media":155294,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_exactmetrics_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[7486,10145,16065],"tags":[10148,16802,16801,12618,4039],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
