{"id":162623,"date":"2019-12-02T13:58:35","date_gmt":"2019-12-02T13:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/holubar-appoints-former-woolrich-md-as-new-ceo-and-secures-new-investment\/"},"modified":"2021-08-12T14:05:41","modified_gmt":"2021-08-12T14:05:41","slug":"holubar-appoints-former-woolrich-md-as-new-ceo-and-secures-new-investment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/holubar-appoints-former-woolrich-md-as-new-ceo-and-secures-new-investment\/","title":{"rendered":"Holubar appoints former Woolrich MD as new CEO and secures new investment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>American outdoor brand Holubar has appointed Woolrich Inc\u2019s former managing director, <strong>Patrick Nebiolo, as its new CEO.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Nebiolo is also investing in Holubar with a silent business partner, and he <strong>joins forces with business entrepreneur Alberto Raengo<\/strong>, who purchased Holubar from The North Face in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Raengo is taking on the chief creative director role. Together they will lead the brand's global development, distribution and <strong>rebuild brand awareness to new and existing markets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nebiolo comments: \u201cWe have<strong> invested a significant amount in Holubar to properly capitalise the company<\/strong> and finance the three-year growth plan we have crafted jointly with Alberto and his partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Woolrich was sold to Luxembourg private equity firm L-Gam in September 2018, and Nebiolo says he left after he finalised the sale of the company \u201cto pursue an entrepreneurial career.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He adds: \u201cThe investment in Holubar, along with<strong> the CEO managerial role and the opportunity to work side by side with Alberto,<\/strong> was a good enough reason to invest a lot of money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI firmly believe that the Holubar brand is <strong>uniquely positioned to be a primary player in the outdoor market<\/strong>, and we can make it compete head to head with all top players and build a global brand in a relative short period of time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Holubar brands\u2019 e-commerce platform was relaunched in October 2019, and the brand <strong>opened two pop-up shops in New York in November.<\/strong> There are also plans to open a mono-brand concept store in mid-December, also in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Holubar is one of America\u2019s oldest outdoor brands,<strong> founded in 1946 by mountaineers Alice and Roy Holubar.<\/strong> They pioneered the use of the then innovative nylon with cotton fibres and down insulation, to form the first lightweight down water repellent sleeping bag and outerwear.<\/p>\n<p>Holubar also developed the first mountain parka named \"Deer Hunter\", which has a global cult following thanks to Robert De Niro wearing the jacket in the 1979 film <em>The Deer Hunter<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":39,"featured_media":136390,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_exactmetrics_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[10488,5,9762,6,10494],"tags":[15548,15546,15547,11739],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.7 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Holubar appoints former Woolrich MD as new CEO and secures new investment - TheIndustry.fashion<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"American outdoor brand Holubar has appointed Woolrich Inc\u2019s former managing director, Patrick Nebiolo, as its new CEO.
