{"id":162553,"date":"2019-11-19T12:38:34","date_gmt":"2019-11-19T12:38:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/dame-zandra-rhodes-receives-legend-award-from-walpole\/"},"modified":"2021-08-12T14:05:26","modified_gmt":"2021-08-12T14:05:26","slug":"dame-zandra-rhodes-receives-legend-award-from-walpole","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/dame-zandra-rhodes-receives-legend-award-from-walpole\/","title":{"rendered":"Dame Zandra Rhodes receives \"Legend\" award from Walpole"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dame Zandra Rhodes <strong>received the \"Legend\" award<\/strong> at last night's Walpole British Luxury Awards held in London.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The iconic British fashion designer, who also styled the after party for the event, was presented with her award <strong>in recognition of her 50-year career<\/strong> by respected fashion editor Hilary Alexander OBE.<\/p>\n<p>Among other fashion winners at the event staged at The Dorchester were <strong>Burberry<\/strong>, which received the Luxury with a Heart prize, <strong>Dunhill<\/strong>, which British Luxury Brand (and which dressed host Laurence Fox) and <strong>Church's<\/strong> which was named British Maker.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Manolo Blahnik x The Wallace Collection<\/strong> received the award for Creative Contribution for their critically acclaimed exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>Helen Brocklebank, Walpole CEO said: \u201cThis evening\u2019s awards have been an incredible celebration of unstoppable creativity, inventiveness, fearless entrepreneurship and above all relentless quest for perfection. All of our winners and nominees are fired by the ambition to be the best and to <strong>make British luxury a byword for brilliance the whole world over<\/strong> and if tonight is anything to go by, they are succeeding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other winners included Beltley, Flowerbx, Smythson, Fortnum &amp; Mason CEO Ewan Venters and theatre and film director Josie Rourke.
