Mike Ashley\u2019s Sports Direct has called for a wide-ranging investigation into the sportswear industry, complaining about the dominance and Adidas and Nike.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The firm said the \u201cmust-have\u201d brands hold a bargaining position<\/strong> which allows them to control supply and the price of their products.<\/p>\n Sportswear giant Adidas has blocked Ashley\u2019s retail empire from selling some of its products<\/strong>, Sports Direct said.<\/p>\n \u201cSports Direct believes that the industry as a whole would benefit from a wide market review<\/strong> by the appropriate authorities in both the UK and Europe,\u201d it said in a statement.<\/p>\n Ashley\u2019s grievance stretches as far back as 2013 when the German giant withdrew replica Chelsea shirts<\/strong> from Sports Direct stores.<\/p>\n The retailer said the dominance of Nike and Adidas allows them to \u201c[refuse] to supply key products \u2026 with no apparent justification<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n
