Kering<\/a> chief\u00a0Fran\u00e7ois-Henri Pinault to lead it,<\/strong> with the aim of setting practical objectives for reducing the environmental impact of the fashion industry.<\/p>\nPinault said of the initiative: \"The global challenges we are facing are complex.<\/strong> They know no borders. Only coalitions can overcome them, bringing together Governments, businesses and civil societies.\"<\/p>\nBurberry CEO Marco Gobbetti added: \u201cWe know that one company cannot solve the environmental challenges facing our planet alone and we believe in the power of collaboration to drive real change<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\nMacron, accompanied by Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, Minister of Labour Muriel P\u00e9nicaud,<\/i> and Deputy Minister of Ecological and Solidary Transition Brune Poirson, invited representatives of the 32 fashion and textile companies to the Elys\u00e9e Palace<\/strong> to launch the Fashion Pact by his side today.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
The pact is being hailed as an historic move for the industry, given its scale and profile,<\/strong> and its signatories include\u00a0groups and brands in luxury, fashion, sports and lifestyle, along with suppliers and retailers, all of whom are already involved in separate environmental strategies.
