{"id":161812,"date":"2019-07-07T14:22:55","date_gmt":"2019-07-07T14:22:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/asos-in-consultation-over-redundancies-at-london-hq\/"},"modified":"2021-08-12T14:02:06","modified_gmt":"2021-08-12T14:02:06","slug":"asos-in-consultation-over-redundancies-at-london-hq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/asos-in-consultation-over-redundancies-at-london-hq\/","title":{"rendered":"ASOS in consultation over redundancies at London HQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Online fashion giant ASOS is in <strong>consultation with staff over approximately 100 redundancies<\/strong> at its North London HQ, according to reports this weekend.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/edition\/business\/asos-led-by-nick-beighton-prepares-for-job-cuts-as-profits-plunge-xhcbjhgjd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>The Sunday Times<\/em><\/a> reports that most of the proposed job cuts will come from its marketing department and come shortly after the company reported that half-year\u00a0<strong>pre-tax profits had crashed 87% to \u00a34m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ASOS said when its half-year figures were published that the \"disappointing\" results were down to <strong>costs relating to adding new warehouse capacity in\u00a0the US<\/strong> and a high level of discounting and promotional activity across the market.
