He will remain on the board as a non-executive director.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBen steps aside <strong>following a distinguished tenure and the board is extremely grateful<\/strong> for his leadership,\u201d River Island chairman Clive Lewis said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuccession has been carefully planned and, <strong>following a rigorous selection process, we are confident Will has the right skills,<\/strong> experience and vision to lead the company in this exciting new chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kernan is a seasoned retail leader and served as Group CEO of bike retailer Wiggle, Bike24 and Chain reaction for two years until March of this year.
