{"id":161650,"date":"2019-06-10T15:58:44","date_gmt":"2019-06-10T15:58:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/calvin-klein-names-cheryl-abel-hodges-as-new-ceo\/"},"modified":"2021-08-12T14:01:32","modified_gmt":"2021-08-12T14:01:32","slug":"calvin-klein-names-cheryl-abel-hodges-as-new-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/calvin-klein-names-cheryl-abel-hodges-as-new-ceo\/","title":{"rendered":"Calvin Klein Names Cheryl Abel-Hodges as new CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Calvin Klein has <strong>promoted Cheryl Abel-Hodges to the role of CEO replacing Steve Shiffman<\/strong> who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Abel-Hodges was <strong>formerly Group President, Calvin Klein North America and The Underwear Group<\/strong> and joined the brand's parent PVH Corp in 2006.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shiffman has been CEO since 2014 and has been with Calvin Klein since 1992<\/strong>. During his time he oversaw the appointment and subsequent departure of global chief creative officer Raf Simons, who left the business in December.<\/p>\n<p>Following Simons' departure, Shiffman announced the <strong>brand would be dropping its catwalk collections<\/strong> to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/calvin-klein-exits-luxury-collections-to-focus-on-jeans-and-underwear\/\"> focus on its denim, underwear and lifestyle products<\/a>. The changes also included the closure of its Madison Avenue flagship store as the brand pursued a \"digital first\" approach.<\/p>\n<p>In her new role Abel-Hodges will<strong> report to Stefan Larsson, PVH President.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PVH Corp chairman and CEO Enrico Chirico said he had \"great\u00a0confidence that Cheryl is the right person\" to lead the brand.<\/p>\n<p>\"Her<strong>\u00a0strong management abilities, together with her consistent track record for operational excellence, <\/strong>will provide strong direction for the Calvin Klein team.
