{"id":160875,"date":"2019-01-23T16:57:29","date_gmt":"2019-01-23T16:57:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/joules-interim-sales-up-17-6\/"},"modified":"2021-08-12T13:54:56","modified_gmt":"2021-08-12T13:54:56","slug":"joules-interim-sales-up-17-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theindustry.fashion\/joules-interim-sales-up-17-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Joules interim sales up 17.6%"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Premium fashion and lifestyle retailer Joules posted <strong>a 17.6% increase in interim group revenues to \u00a3113.1m<\/strong> in the six months to 26 November after a robust performance across all channels.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The company said <strong>underlying profit before tax increased by 14.7% to \u00a310.7m<\/strong> during the period with approximate revenue growth of +14% excluding the impact of the successful transition of certain wholesale accounts to a retail concession model.<\/p>\n<p><strong>International growth was strong, up 64.2%,<\/strong> and now represents 15.8% of group revenue.<\/p>\n<p>Joules said it had maintained the strong performance throughout the Christmas period with <strong>retail sales +11.7% in the seven weeks to 6 January 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoules has delivered another strong performance in the first half of year. As previously reported, this outcome is <strong>ahead of our initial expectations<\/strong> for the Period and has been achieved despite challenging trading conditions,\" said CEO Colin Porter.<\/p>\n<p>\"The business\u2019s success during this first half of the year is testament to the strength of our distinctive brand and the efforts of our fantastic team. We continue to benefit from <strong>a well-invested and flexible \u2018total retail\u2019 model in the UK,<\/strong> which enables us to respond and adapt to shifting customer preferences.
