John Lewis has gained the exclusive rights to sell J Crew's<\/strong> younger, and some would say cooler, sister brand Madewell in its UK stores.<\/p>\n The denim-centred brand will be introduced to its\u00a0new landmark 230,000sq ft Westfield London store next week<\/strong>, the Evening Standard<\/em> reports<\/a>.\u00a0It will be rolled out to further John Lewis stores this autumn.<\/p>\n \u201cThe introduction of Madewell builds on our focus to provide our customers with a selection of unique brands that they cannot find anywhere else<\/strong> on the high street,\u201d Jo Bennett, head of womenswear at the department store said. In its recent year-end results John Lewis revealed that its ambition was for\u00a050% of its brands<\/a> to be own label or exclusive.<\/p>\n Previously Madewell, which sells t-shirts from around \u00a325 and jeans from around \u00a3125<\/strong>, was only available to UK consumers via international shipping on its own website with a selection of items available on Net-A-Porter.<\/a><\/p>\n Head designer at the brand Joyce Lee said it had seen \"a continued demand for a physical presence from our UK customers so are excited to be finally able to provide them with a place they can experience Madewell in person.\u201d<\/p>\n
