Eva Herzigová is the world’s first supermodel to become a realistic MetaHuman, created to star in virtual worlds as many fashion brands explore the digital realm.

Talent agency Unsigned, working alongside virtual production studio Dimension, have worked with supermodel Eva Herzigová to create a lifelike, real-time 3D digital human.

Simon Windsor, Co-CEO, Dimension Studio: "We are entering a new era for digital identity and fashion. Eva is at the forefront of this evolution, with her MetaHuman ready for super-stardom. 3D avatars offer artists and talent exciting new ways to extend their reach, and present brands with more versatile and innovative storytelling opportunities. "

Herzigová has been scanned in a 70-camera rig, generating data that a team of character artists has used to recreate her avatar. The supermodel also took part in a motion capture shoot, tracking the movement of her face and body to capture her signature walk.

Now, Eva Herzigová’s MetaHuman can be dressed, posed and have her hair and make-up restyled. In addition, her body and facial expressions can be animated using motion capture or traditional animation.

Eva Herzigová said: "The process of giving birth to my MetaHuman has been incredible, it genuinely feels like a mother-like experience: creating every aspect of me, as me.

"My MetaHuman gets to go off to work, to be photographed and styled by the most incredible creative minds, today I can be in London, Paris, Milan and New York, all whilst at home cooking dinner with my children."

Although several fictional models have been created, Eva becomes the first real-life supermodel to debut as a hyperreal 3D avatar. The avatar was created using Epic Games’ MetaHuman technology, a complete framework for animating highly realistic human characters for use in the digital realm.

Caroline Rush CBE, CEO of the British Fashion Council and an Unsigned advisor, added: "The release of Eva’s digital human, led by Unsigned and Dimension, is a ground-breaking moment in the fashion industry. As we venture into the future of digital fashion, it is fantastic to see the UK at the creative core of change, cementing its position as the centre for innovative ideas and design in the fashion world."
