Woolrich launches first canine collection with Temellini Dog à Porter for International Dog Day

Heritage outerwear brand Woolrich has unveiled its first collection for dogs today – International Dog Day – in collaboration with Temellini Dog à Porter, a brand leader in the development of canine couture garments “aimed at protecting our four-legged friends from the elements”.

Temellini Dog à Porter was originally launched in 2017 by womenswear designer Giovanna Temellini. Her passion for fashion and love of animals inspired her first line of tailored clothing dedicated to dogs of all kinds and sizes.

The new capsule collection, entirely made in Italy, was inspired by the Woolrich archive and the garments that shaped its history, and it features the brand’s Ramar cloth, a fabric made of 60% cotton and 40% nylon that offers comfort and performance at the same time.

The versatile material has a Teflon finish that makes it water resistant, and it has been utilised in six garments including two parkas padded with recycled wadding. There’s also two buffalo check wool overshirts that feature a three-layer construction, and two raincoats with check cotton linings.

All components, from fabrics to labels to accessories, have been selected among those that are already available, avoiding additional dedicated manufacturing.

Shot by Luca Grottoli, the accompanying campaign focuses on the relationship between humans and their best friends, conveyed through a spontaneous and genuine viewpoint.

The people photographed are not models, but creative artists with their dogs, such as designer Danilo Paura, content creator Niki Wujie, Kyle NG’s second-in-command at Brain Dead, Elia Fornari, founder of the Rat Hat brand, Alice Sofia Navarin, and graphic designer Luca Ricci.

All items feature both brands’ logos – Woolrich’s sheep and Temellini’s Afghan Hound – and are available in six sizes from today on Woolrich’s website, as well as in its shops in Milan, Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Forte dei Marmi and New York.
