Women's shirt brand With Nothing Underneath (WNU) has announced it has achieved B Corp certification, following 18 months of dedicated work towards the accreditation.

Administered by nonprofit B Lab, B Corp is one of the most demanding certifications that evaluates brands’ social and environmental impact. The certification covers over 300 questions on governance, workers, communities and impact on the environment.

By becoming B Corp certified, WNU is reinforcing its ongoing commitment to environmental and social actions. Rather than a final goal, the brand has said this certification marks a new stage in the transformation towards a purpose-driven model.

Pip Durell, Founder and CEO of WNU, said: "I am delighted to announce that WNU has achieved B Corp certification. We are very proud to be joining this community. As a business I truly believe we need to take full accountability for the impact we have on both people and planet, transforming how we do business and making sure that accountability is public.

"This year marks another milestone for our brand: five years in business. I am delighted to have achieved this recognition during a year that has also seen us open our very first bricks and mortar store on Elizabeth Street in London. I want WNU to be at the forefront of making the changes we want to see in the fashion industry, and B Corp offers us a powerful framework within which to accelerate and guide this transformation."

In the UK there are 27 B Corps under the 'Apparel, Footwear & Accessories' industry category. Of the fashion brands certified, Patagonia is at the top with 151.4 points, while Allbirds has 89.4, Chloe is on 85.2 and Sezane has 82.6. WNU has achieved the score of 91.7.
