Why ASOS is pushing into premium with new menswear line
ASOS is sharpening its menswear proposition with the launch of ASOS Collective, debuting on its platform from 20 October 2025. More than just another sub-line, Collective signals a confident pivot: ASOS aiming higher in quality, longevity and design refinement.
The new collection is framed as "next-level essentials", building on wardrobe pillars rather than chasing trends - a move that echoes the retailer’s broader strategy to elevate its in-house labels.
Denim comes in precise fits, Tapered, Straight and Barrel, while jersey is reworked across three distinct weights.
James Lawrence, Menswear Design Director at ASOS, said: "We’ve rethought wardrobe staples with a focus on quality, fit and detail, creating pieces that are not just made to be worn, but made to last. It’s a collection that puts longevity and inclusivity at its heart."
The launch comes as ASOS continues to navigate its turnaround plan under CEO José Antonio Ramos Calamonte, who is steering the retailer through a period of cost-cutting, stock reductions and a refocus on profitability. In September, the company revealed it had made strategic progress in FY25 despite lower-than-expected sales. The online fashion retailer said its financial performance in FY25 reflects the success of its strategic initiatives, with its gross profit margin rising by 350 basis points year-on-year.
Earlier this year, ASOS made a similar premium play with ARRANGE, its womenswear edit of elevated occasionwear and design-led separates - signalling that Collective forms part of a wider strategic shift toward curated, premium-tier fashion designed to compete with mid-market rivals.
Can ASOS convince its customer base, historically driven by price and volume, to invest in quality-led wardrobe staples instead?
