White Stuff to open first airport store at London Gatwick
British fashion and lifestyle retailer White Stuff is opening a 1,044 sq ft store in the newly developed North Terminal departure lounge at London Gatwick in late November 2024, marking the brand’s first-ever airport store.
The announcement follows a series of new openings for White Stuff, including its 1,800 sq ft flagship store at Liverpool ONE which opened in March, as well as doubling its concessions – from 10 to 20 - in Marks & Spencer stores in June.
The new Gatwick store will now see White Stuff hone in on travellers' shopping before flying off to their holiday destinations. The store will also feature White Stuff’s new mobile payment system. Instead of a standard till, customers will be able to pay from anywhere in the shop.
Shoppers will be able to browse White Stuff’s latest AW24 women’s ranges, men’s ranges and its Christmas collections.
Additionally, the store will carry swimwear, summer dresses, t-shirts and shorts – for those heading out to warmer climes.
Tracey Verghese, White Stuff’s Trading Director, commented: “Opening our first airport store is a major milestone for White Stuff, introducing our brand to many more customers every year. Our unique designs and quality fabrics will be a great addition to London Gatwick’s portfolio of brands.
“London Gatwick marks our eighth opening or relocation in 2024, as we continue to extend White Stuff’s reach and customer base. We can’t wait to meet all the travellers, especially those who may not have experienced White Stuff before.”
London Gatwick’s newly redeveloped North Terminal departure lounge has seen more than £10 million invested in contemporary seating and flooring, planting inspired by the surrounding West Sussex countryside, and a new “orientation zone”, providing passengers with a more personalised experience.
Bozena Stoychev, Account Lead Speciality Retail at London Gatwick said: “We are really excited to be welcoming White Stuff’s first airport store later this year. White Stuff is a premium British brand and will be a popular addition to the North Terminal, which has recently undergone a multi-million pound redevelopment.
“We are delighted top brands continue to see the value of having a presence at London Gatwick, with our fantastic array of more than 220 global destinations and diverse passenger demographic proving a big draw.”
White Stuff has 123 stores and 54 concessions in the UK - within M&S, John Lewis and other independents. It also has six shops and 22 concessions in both Germany and Belgium and the brand sells internationally via its website and has 575 wholesale stockists (165 in the UK and Ireland and 410 international wholesale stockists).
