Whering to launch pop-up on Oxford Street for Earth Day

In support of Fashion Revolution Week & Earth Day, digital wardrobe app Whering is partnering with key companies such as Ecologi, CoGo, Guppyfriend and Re-Fashion, and opening a one-day pop-up experience on Oxford Street.

The immersive pop-up experience is centered around the environmental impact of fashion and is available for one-day only (22 April), between 10am-6pm at 58 Oxford Street, London.

Focusing on the four elements of nature, Whering is collaborating with the aforementioned key companies to benefit the world through sustainable and environmental decisions.

Earth: Partnering with Ecologi, Whering aims to reforest the world, one tree at a time. For Fashion Revolution Week and Earth Day it will plant a tree for every download of the app.

Air: With the fashion industry producing 10% of all the carbon emissions in the world, Whering will partner with CoGo, an app that measures the users’ carbon footprint by looking at their purchases.

Water: Whering will also partner with Guppyfriend, a company specialising in washing bags that reduce fibre shedding, promoting a culture of caring for clothes. Within Whering's service tab in the app there will now be information on Guppyfriend to ensure that users take care of their clothes.

Fire: The digital wardrobe app will partner with Re-Fashion to educating users on landfills & incineration, and provide a solution to divert clothes and extend their lifecycle.

Bianca Rangecroft, Founder of Whering, commented: "At Whering, sustainability will always be at the core of everything we do. We created the company for those of us who love a good outfit, but don’t want it to cost the earth (both literally, and figuratively).

"Our mission is to extend the life cycle of the clothes in our wardrobes by taking them digital but also by helping consumers tap into a multitude of circular solutions to help offset their fashion carbon and water footprints. Efficiently using the pieces of clothing we already own is one of the easiest solutions to curbing the industry's emissions - so naturally we wanted to partner with the Ecologi, Guppyfriend, CoGo and Re-fashion to ensure that re-wearing things is a priority but so is caring for them."

TheIndustry.fashion spoke with Rangecroft earlier this year, discussing how Whering was founded and what makes it different to other sustainability-focused developments in the fashion industry.
