WeWork launches free events series for entrepreneurs
Collaborative workspace WeWork has unveiled a series of free events for entrepreneurs this summer, which includes talks featuring fashion designer Henry Holland and Jamal Edwards, founder of SB.TV.
Called We, The Creators the month-long series was conceived to highlight the forthcoming Creator Awards in September, at which WeWork will give away $20m in prize money to aspiring entrepreneurs around the world.
The events kick off on 10 July at WeWork Waterhouse Square with a talk on food featuring Camden Town Brewery, KERB, MOB Kitchen, London Food Tech Week and Press Juice. Technology will be discussed on 13 July at WeWork Old Street while Holland will discuss how to spot the next trend in fashion at WeWork Moorgate on 19 July. The final talk on 27 July at Moorgate concerns media and will feature Edwards and Dave Burt chief editor of @London and co-founder of Be Social Global.
Each event starts at 6.30pm and will be followed by cocktails and networking. Spaces can be reserved here.
The Creator Awards is a new global, year-long initiative established to recognise and reward the creators across all industries and all stages of growth. The awards will grant more than $20m to entrepreneurs, small businesses, growing companies, non-profits, artists and more who can apply in one of three categories.
- The Incubate Award: Individuals with an idea or a project that needs funding
- The Launch Award: Businesses or nonprofits that have launched but are still learning
- The Scale Award: Businesses or nonprofits with a record of success, ready for the next level
