Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield and Ministry of Sound Group have today announced the signing of an agreement to open The Ministry Shepherd’s Bush, a new concept combining workspace, a multi-studio fitness offer and a rooftop bar and restaurant, in the space currently occupied by House of Fraser.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield will begin construction later this year on the 115,000 square feet of space which will open in Q1 2024. It is the latest example of repurposing a traditional anchor department store into a fresh and dynamic offer, incorporating workspace, hospitality and fitness.

Westfield London did not confirm if House of Fraser will relocate to a different unit or leave the shopping destination completely.

Work: State-of-the-art flexible office space for over 1,200 people with bespoke private offices. Hotdesking for up to 500 members, meeting rooms, breakout areas and a varied cultural programme including social events, professional development, education and wellness.

Workout: A health and fitness offer with multi-disciplinary studios, delivered by some of the UK’s best fitness instructors, and a nutrition-focussed juice bar – all open to the public.

Network: An event space and meeting room suite with the latest technology, available to hire for events and gatherings of up to 300. The location will serve as a destination for conferences, product launches, panel talks and meetings.

Entertainment: A dedicated members bar and separate public-facing rooftop bar & restaurant.

The Ministry Shepherd’s Bush follows the opening of The Ministry Borough Road, one of the most popular places to work and network in London. It is the latest venture from global entertainment and hospitality brand Ministry of Sound, which opened the doors of its eponymous south London nightclub in 1991.

Earlier this week, Black Pound Day, the movement supporting black-owned businesses in the UK, confirmed it is launching a first permanent store in Westfield London.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield recently reported a proportionate turnover for Q1 2022 of £897.1 million, up 34.2%, reflecting strong post COVID-19 recovery and asset deliveries.
